Who & Where We Are

"Do you know what you are?
You are what you is
You is what you am
A cow don't make ham
You aint what you're not
So see what you got
You are what you is
And that's all it 'tis "
--Frank Zappa

I'm the founder of Frozen Paddler, Kurt Geib (pronounced Guy-b ). I have been playing on this water world most of my life. I am a Registered Maine Guide and a Sea Kayak Guide. I believe that taking back some of the vanishing time of our lives and play and relaxing is the key to sanity. Having looked around this country, I really appreciate what the state of Maine has to offer. The numerous lakes and ponds, the mighty and meek rivers, the miles of coastline are balanced by the coastal and western mountains. Snow and ice gives us another surface for smooth sailing. With the onset of winter, we see the fluid beauty of water blossom into crystalline structures that puts all the works in the Louvre Museum to shame. The ultimate in low impact use, man can alter his enviroment with his actions, and all evidence disappers come spring.

I believe the best part of any trip is coming home safe and sound and in one piece. We can rip out all the stops to making fine memories, after paying for the insurance of safety. Life can change forever instantly, with no turning back. We at Frozen Paddler believe the best way to avoid bad situations is to stay away from them. We bow to the weather, what the group can do, and the amount of time allotted, etc., etc.... Not saying that we keep everyone on a tight leash, skills really don't improve that way, but we do reserve the last word. No worries, we're in this business to make a buck, but to keep laughing and learning as we go.

I really like the idea of small group, customized outings. We figure out what you want, then comes the double pay off. You get what you expected and paid for, we get the money and the satisfaction of your smile. Not a bad way to make a living.
