Sea Kayak Tours

2 Hour Tour
$35 per person
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This beginner tour is offered daily starting at 9 am, noon and 3 pm. Tours depart from the Maine Yankee Boat Launch, or the Wiscasset Water Front, depending on what stage the tide is in. We will go over paddle strokes, hazards and wet exits. We will then head out to play in the marine playground, and check out birds, seals, fish and other boats in port. Please arrive 15 minutes early to size up equipment and do some paperwork.

Sea Kayak Level 1
4-6 Hour Course
$90 per person w/o lunch
$95 per person with lunch
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This class is offered on Mondays at 9 am, or by appointment. We meet at the Frozen Paddler headquarters to do some paperwork and get sized for equipment. We then head to Nequasset Lake for skills training. After lunch and enjoying some lake views, we'll hit the salt water for a few hours of paddling, and checking out the marine flora and fauna. We should arrive back at Frozen Paddler around 3 or 4 pm. Please see class syllabus for details of skills covered.

Canoe Tours

2 Hour Tour
$25 per person
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This beginner tour is offered daily at 9 am, noon and 3 pm. We start at Nequasset Lake boat launch. After a quick paddle stroke lesson, we head out on the lake for a relaxing look at the views, ducks, loons, beaver and fish, and generally enjoy the water and the day. Please arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork and the like.

Canoe Level 1

4-6 Hour Course
$65 per person w/o lunch
$70 per person with lunch
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This class is offered on Wedsday at 9 am, or by appointment. We will meet at Nequasset Lake boat launch, do some paperwork and get sized for equipment. We will then work on paddle strokes and rescues, boat handling and control. After lunch we will spend a few hours exploring the lake, checking out the wildlife. Please see the class syllabus for details on skills covered.

Full Moon Paddling Tour
2 Hour Tour
$35 per person
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This 2 hour paddling tour is offered monthly, during the full moon phase. We will offer a lake tour at Nequasset Lake, or a saltwater version that will leave the Wiscasset Waterfront. You may utilize any type of boats: canoe, sea kayak or rowing canoe. The tour will start when the moon rises, around 8 or 9 pm. Come and see how bright the night becomes, how the water becomes a huge mirror. You'll never drive with your high beams on during the full moon again.

Outdoor Skills

Introduction To Map & Compass
3 Hour Class
$25 per person
Minimum: 4 people
Maximum: 8 people
This basic Map and Compass class is offered on Tuesday at 7 pm, or by appointment. We do this class right at Frozen Paddler, or we can come to you. With inside classroom work and outside bearing exercises. We cover the use of the map alone, the compass alone, and then bring them together. All equipment provided.

Map & Compass Course

6-8 Hour Class
$60 per person
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 6 people
This Map and Compass Course is offered on Saturday at 8 am, or by appointment. Again, we do this class at Frozen Paddler, or we can come to you. If we do it here, we cover the classroom work in the morning. After lunch, we will be in the field, following a course that we plotted that morning. Please see class syllabus for details.

Outdoor Cooking
2-3 Hour Class
$70 per class
Includes all food
Maximum: 10 people
This class is offered Sunday at 7 pm, or by appointment. This is another class that can be for here or to go. This class offers hints on camp stoves, menu planning and other topics on a subject that is always a welcome part of any trip. We will prepare different foods and share ideas, Please see class syllabus for details.

When Nature Calls

2 Hour Class
$40 per class
No limit
This class is offered when needed. Cheeky humor aside, this class deals with one of the worst things we give to Mama Earth in the back country. We offer this to outing clubs, scouts or anyone heading out. Again, this class can be done here, or we can come to you. Please see class syllabus for details.

Fall Harvest
When the flora prepares for winter and chlorophyll fades and the leaves shows it's true color, it makes peepers of us all. Paddle down lakes, rivers and coast lines and enjoy the festival of colors. Catch a glimpse of migrating birds and anticipate the up coming winter season. We offer all the tours, all the times, with any boat. Please see time and dates of previous tours listed above.
Winter Programs

Basic Winter Over Night
$75 per person
Minimum: 1 person
Maximum: 4 people
Ever wondered how comfortable you could be sleeping outside below zero? This is a good first step for the new winter camper. This trip is offered nightly during the winter months. We meet at Frozen Paddler at 1pm, gear up and head out hauling packs or sleds.We go a short distance, then settle down for the night. We use bivy sacks or tents, depending on how wooly it is. We chow down on hot food and liquids, then check out the winter night with a hike. After hanging out for a while, we turn in. Next morning, after a hot breakfast, we break camp and end up back at Frozen Paddler around 9 or 10 am. We provide everything except warm hiking boots. See what you've been missing.

Snowshoe Tours
Two Hour Tour
$25 per person
Minimum: 1 person
Maximum: 6 people
This beginner snowshoe tour is great for families.We offer these at 9 am and 12 noon daily. We gear up at Frozen Paddler and try to cover as many different types of terrain as possibale to make the most of the shoes. We will check out animal tracks, and other evidence of wildlife. Hot drinks and snacks provided. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
